LA AXARQUIA
- JUBRIQUE INFORMATION
The village stands on mountainous terrain, its
streets and houses adapted to the uneven land on which they were built,
thus creating the architectural layout so typical of the Serrania
de Ronda area.
History
As is the case with most of the towns in this region of the Serrania
de Ronda, Jubrique appeared as a result of the existence of a farm
in the area during the Andalusi-Arabic era. Later, like its neighbours,
it was conquered by Christian armies.
The present-day town is the result of a growth in population in the
18th century.
