Fuengirola - Malaga Beaches


Location: From Málaga, on the N340 take the bypass to Castillo Sohail, it is the last exit before leaving the municipality of Fuengirola. There is ample parking near the beach.

Description: The Playa del Castillo is one of the best in Fuengirola, it is situated in the shadow of the medieval fortress of Sohail, People come here to get away from the tourist onslaught that hits the area every summer. The absence of beachside buildings ensure long evening sunshine. This beach has been traditionally used for overnighters where people set up camp and stay until dawn.


Location: From Málaga take the N340 and go to the centre of Fuengirola, at the town Hall take Calle Marconi to the beach.

Services: Chiringuitos, disabled access, showers footbaths, lifeguards. First aid, watersports rentals, sunbeds and parasols of course, Playgrounds for the kids.

Description: It is a kilometre long, and has all the best services. It is situated a stroll away from Fuengirola where even record shops look onto the beach. It therefore fills up very often, despite it being narrow on one side it widens as you go west.


Location: From Málaga on the N340 take the bypass to Los Boliches/Fuengirola and go to Plaza de San Raphael in the direction of the sea.

Services: Showers and footbath, Playgrounds, watersports rentals, sunbeds, parasols, lifeguards, beach security and the Red Cross.

Description: A blue flag holder for many years, the sands and waters are always clean, the showers and footbaths are fed by ramps for the disabled. This beach attracts a mixed crowd, and is always full of hustle and bustle.


Location: From Málaga on the n340 take the first bypass to Los Boliches.

Services: Parking, public showers, security towers local police, rescue operations sunbeds paseo maritimo, newsstands, bins, telephones, playgrounds watersports rentals restaurants, bars and hotels.

Description: The Golden sands and moderate swell ensures that this is one of the most visited of the area. Tourists especially flock here to enjoy the traditional cuisine and sun, sand and sea; it is two and half km in length and 60 metres in width.


Location: From Málaga on the N340 arriving at Fuengirola take the first bypass signed Los Boliches

Description: Few beaches in the area can claim to be this tranquil, it lies a fair bit away from the town. 1600 metres in length and 30 in width, its waters are rarely cold, its sands fine and golden. All danger areas are signposted which attracts the windsurfers and kayak enthusiasts. Weekends see the beach fill up with tourists but almost never to capacity.


Location: from Málaga on the old N340, just after leaving Benalmadena, on the edge of Fuengirola.

Services: Red Cross lifesaving, watersports rentals, more than a hundred sunbeds and parasols, a small wooden playground, and of course the ever present chiringuitos.

Description: Is one of the better beaches of Fuengirola, it avoids the summer overcrowding, the sands and waters are clean, the shower access is aided by wooden ramps. The playgrounds and Red Cross, attracts a lot of families, there are no sandbanks which allow for a gradual deepening.
