This Cave, discovery in January 1959, is situated in the Andalusia area of la Axarquia, between the Acantilados de Maro Natural Par and the Tejada and almijara Sierras National Game Reserve. To be more precise, it lies about 5km. from Nerja and 1 km from its old municipal district of Maro.
Cave of Nerja, which has been declared an Historic-Artistic Monument, has a total length of 4,273 m of which only a third can be visited by the public. it is enough for those who cross the threshold to feel the fascination for the work of erosion that, over the centuries, the water has effected in this karstic cavity and on the marble. stalactites and stalagmites create a landscape that seems to be straight out of a fairy tale. Particularly impressive is the 32 m-tall Hall of the Cataclysm. It has been calculated that this space was fashioned by the fall of 1,000 billion drops of water. The visitor's attention will also be drawn to the Hall of the Phantoms and the Hall of the waterfall.
Also, in the area that goes by the name of the Organs, you will find schematic cave signs.
