The province of Málaga is the complete destination for sports lovers, offering them the chance to enjoy their favourite pursuits in three different dimensions: land, sea and sky. A wide range of activities are available all year round thanks to the excellent local climate.
It goes without saying that the Mediterranean Sea is the star of the show. Its warm waters welcome the numerous sports and leisure vessels that set sail from the province’s pleasure harbours, notably Puerto Marina and Puerto Banús, each day. A blanket of blue adorned with the colourful sails used by bold windsurfers and exponents of its newer cousin, kitesurfing. Meanwhile, the sea bed is home to a myriad of fantasy with the depths of the sea. A secret that only divers will discover.
If we turn our gaze upwards, we will find that the sky paints a similar scene. Thousands of kites and sails shine like lanterns as they glide through the air-. Paragliders soar across Málaga’s celestial dome –even in the city itself, it is not unusual to pick out the sail of a motorised flight lover among the scant clouds.
With our feet firmly back on the ground once more, we can take advantage of Málaga’s natural geography to go hiking along one of the many routes that cover the whole, while climbing is an option for the more daring. There are other sports, though: horse riding, tennis, paddle tennis and swimming are just a few of the options available in Málaga. More unusual pursuits are also catered for: Mushing, a variation of sledging that takes place on land rather than snow, and paintball, but to name but two. Such is the extent of our passion for sport, of our passion for life.
